Stat. tit. 10, § 10-175.5","heading":"Rules and regulations","body":"(a) The Commission is hereby authorized and directed to\n\nformulate and to be responsible for the administration and operation\n\nof a comprehensive and detailed plan for the purposes specified in\n\nSection 175.1 et seq. of this title, and to make such rules and\n\nregulations as may be necessary or desirable for the administration\n\nof this plan and the implementation of the provisions of this act.\n\n(b) The Commission shall receive and expend in accordance with\n\nsuch plan all necessary funds made available to it by the United\n\nStates government, by the state or its political subdivisions, or by\n\nany other sources for such purposes.\n\n(c) The Commission shall cooperate with the federal government,\n\nthrough its appropriate agency, in developing, extending, and\n\nimproving such services, and in the administration of the plan.\n\n(d) The Commission shall establish and maintain such methods of\n\nadministration, including those necessary to establish and maintain\n\na merit system of personnel administration, as are necessary for\n\neffective and efficient operation of the plan; shall maintain\n\nrecords and prepare reports of services rendered; and shall\n\ncooperate with health, medical, dental, nursing and welfare agencies\n\nand organizations, and with any other agency of this state charged\n\nwith the administration of laws providing for the vocational or\n\nremedial rehabilitation of handicapped children.\n\n(e) The Director is hereby authorized and directed to perform\n\nall the duties and functions now performed by the Director of the\n\nOklahoma Commission for Crippled Children and such other duties\n\nrelating to the Children with Special Health Care Needs Program as\n\nmay be assigned to the Director by the Commission. The Director is\n\nhereby authorized and directed, subject to the control of the\n\nCommission, to set up in the Department of Public Welfare a unit to\n\nbe charged primarily with responsibility in the field of health\n\nservices for crippled children, including the planning, promoting\n\nand coordinating of crippled children's services. The Director is\n\nhereby authorized to delegate to the Supervisor of such unit of the\n\nDepartment such authority as is necessary under the laws of the\n\nfederal government and rules and regulations promulgated by the\n\nSecretary of Health, Education and Welfare, necessary to carry out\n\nthe provisions of this act, subject to the administrative\n\nsupervision of the Director.\n\n(f) The Commission is authorized to create positions, fix\n\nsalaries and employ necessary professional and clerical personnel,\n\nto appoint advisory committees or consultants, and to pay necessary\n\ntravel expenses.\n\n(g) The Commission shall have authority to provide for the\n\nexpenditure of all funds for the administration and operation of the\n\nprogram as specified in this act, including payment for physician's\n\nand dentist's services if payment is recommended by the council of\n\nthe Oklahoma State Medical Association or the Executive Council of\n\nthe Oklahoma Dental Association.\n\n(h) The Commission is hereby authorized and directed to\n\nformulate plans and procedures and to make such rules and\n\nregulations as may be necessary for the care of children with\n\nemergency conditions.","path":["OK Code","Title 10"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os10.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"16ce1eb3caecbe504e6fee8236e913fa06e884db91d7549c9f03429dba124a70","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-175.4","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-175.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
