Stat. tit. 10, § 10-40.7","heading":"Agreements with Indian tribes - Care and custody of","body":"Indian children – Jurisdiction over child custody proceedings.\n\nThe Director of the Department of Human Services and the\n\nExecutive Director of the Office of Juvenile Affairs are authorized\n\nto enter into agreements on behalf of the state with Indian tribes\n\nin Oklahoma regarding care and custody of Indian children and\n\njurisdiction over child custody proceedings including agreements\n\nwhich provide for orderly transfer of jurisdiction on a case by case\n\nbasis and agreements which provide for concurrent jurisdiction\n\nbetween the state and the Indian tribe, as authorized by the Federal\n\nIndian Child Welfare Act, 25 U.S.C. Section 1919. The State of\n\nOklahoma hereby ratifies all agreements in conformity with the\n\nFederal Indian Child Welfare Act executed prior to the enactment of\n\nthis act, and any such agreement shall be enforceable in any case\n\nfiled or pending at the time that an agreement vesting concurrent\n\njurisdiction is entered into between the state and an Indian tribe.","path":["OK Code","Title 10"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os10.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"782a5903fd0ee2614a63faad34f3eedba6f61d45b1f866bda009463965ee2f39","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-40.6","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-40.8"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
