Stat. tit. 10, § 10-454","heading":"Powers and duties of Commission and Director","body":"(a) The Commission is hereby authorized and directed to\n\nformulate and to be responsible for the administration and operation\n\nof a comprehensive and detailed plan for the purposes specified and\n\nas provided in Title 10 as compiled in O.S.1951, Sections 187, 211 -\n\n223, 291 - 296, 301 - 304, and 311 - 327, inclusive, as amended,\n\nwhere not inconsistent with the provisions of this act.\n\n(b) The Commission shall receive and expend in connection with\n\nsuch plan all funds made available to it by the United States\n\nGovernment, by the state or its political subdivisions, or by any\n\nother source for such purposes.\n\n(c) The Commission shall establish and maintain such methods of\n\nadministration, including those necessary to establish and maintain\n\na merit system of personnel administration, as are necessary for the\n\neffective and efficient operation of the plan; shall maintain\n\nrecords and prepare reports of services rendered; and shall\n\ncooperate with law enforcement, health, medical, and welfare\n\nagencies and organizations, and with any other agency of this state\n\nand the political subdivisions charged with the administration of\n\nlaws relating to juvenile delinquents.\n\n(d) The Director of Public Welfare is hereby authorized and\n\ndirected to perform those duties and functions now performed by the\n\nBoard of Managers and Superintendents for such juvenile delinquents\n\nof said institutions and such other duties relating to this act as\n\nmay be assigned by the Commission.\n\n(e) The Commission is authorized to create positions, fix\n\nsalaries, and employ necessary professional and clerical personnel.\n\n(f) The Commission shall have authority to provide for the\n\nexpenditure of all funds for the administration and operation of the\n\ninstitutions as specified in this act.","path":["OK Code","Title 10"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os10.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"cecd7db01387e136109443c59f5620d44e99629dc32c5dbf31133bc018ae62fe","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-453","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-455"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
