Stat. tit. 10, § 10-600","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in Sections 601.1 through 601.14 of this title:\n\n1. “Children and youth service system” means health, mental\n\nhealth, social, rehabilitative assistance and educational services\n\nprovided to children and youth by and through the courts and public\n\nand private agencies;\n\n2. “Client” means a child or a family member of a child who is\n\nreceiving services through the children and youth service system;\n\n3. “Commission” means the Oklahoma Commission on Children and\n\nYouth;\n\n4. “Homeless children and youth” means a person twenty-one (21)\n\nyears of age or younger who is:\n\na. unaccompanied by a parent or guardian, and\n\nb. without shelter where appropriate care and supervision\n\nare available, or\n\nc. without a parent or guardian who is willing and able\n\nto provide shelter and care, or\n\nd. without a fixed, regular, or adequate nighttime\n\nresidence. For the purposes of this paragraph,\n\n“fixed, regular, or adequate nighttime residence”\n\nshall not include a supervised publicly or privately\n\noperated shelter or institution designed to provide\n\ntemporary living accommodations, transitional housing\n\narrangements, living in hotels, temporary living\n\narrangements with other people but without an\n\nopportunity for permanent residence or a residential\n\nlease, or a public or private place not designed for,\n\nnor ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping\n\naccommodation for human beings;\n\n5. “State Plan for Services to Children and Youth” means the\n\nplanning document required by Section 601.6a of this title; and\n\n6. “Youth at risk of homelessness” means a person twenty-one\n\n(21) years of age or younger whose status or circumstances indicate\n\na significant danger of experiencing homelessness in the near\n\nfuture, including but not limited to youth exiting out-of-home\n\nplacements, youth who previously were homeless, youth whose parents\n\nor guardians are or were previously homeless, youth who are exposed\n\nto abuse and neglect in their homes, and youth who experience\n\nexcessive conflict with their parents.","path":["OK Code","Title 10"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os10.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"988b8685fef4ae54fec7aaf984a2624a1db5c44c435d5bd92b9985a4ab8490c0","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-60.7a","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10-10-601.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
