Stat. tit. 10, § 10-601.31","heading":"Duties of Commission on Children and Youth - Duties of","body":"Board - Chief Child Abuse Examiner - Duties.\n\nA. The Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth shall:\n\n1. Promulgate rules providing for:\n\na. the training and continuing training requirements for\n\nallopathic and osteopathic physicians, physicians'\n\nassistants, and registered nurses, in a manner\n\nconsistent with their existing scopes of practice as\n\nchild abuse examiners,\n\nb. the duties and responsibilities of child abuse\n\nexaminers, and\n\nc. uniform standards for medical examinations and\n\nevaluations of children suspected to be victims of\n\nchild abuse or neglect and uniform forms for written\n\nreports of such examinations and evaluations;\n\n2. Distribute an initial listing, and revised listings as often\n\nas necessary, of child abuse examiners to:\n\na. each county office of the Department of Human\n\nServices,\n\nb. each local county or city-county health department.\n\nWhere there is no local health department, the listing\n\nshall be sent to the local county board of health,\n\nc. each district attorney, and\n\nd. other persons as necessary and advisable, upon the\n\nrecommendation of the Board of Child Abuse\n\nExamination; and\n\n3. With funds appropriated or otherwise available for such\n\npurpose, may provide by contract for:\n\na. the services of a physician to serve as Chief Child\n\nAbuse Examiner, and\n\nb. the establishment and implementation of a training\n\nprogram and continuing training program for\n\nphysicians, physicians' assistants and registered\n\nnurses, in a manner consistent with their existing\n\nscopes of practice, as child abuse examiners and for\n\nconsultation services to such persons in matters\n\nrelating to child abuse and neglect through contracts\n\nwith the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State\n\nUniversity.\n\nB. The Board of Child Abuse Examination shall:\n\n1. Prepare the rules, standards and forms required by\n\nsubsection A of this section, and amendments to the rules, standards\n\nand forms as necessary, for the approval of the Commission;\n\n2. In cooperation with the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma\n\nState University, develop and maintain training programs and\n\nconsultation services for physicians and child abuse examiners;\n\n3. In consultation and cooperation with the Department of Human\n\nServices and the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, develop a uniform\n\nsystem of reimbursement for medical examinations and evaluations of\n\ncases of suspected child abuse or neglect which are compensable\n\npursuant to Title XIX of the federal Social Security Act for\n\nadoption by the Oklahoma Health Care Authority;\n\n4. Develop and maintain an accurate listing of trained child\n\nabuse examiners for distribution by the Commission; and\n\n5. Engage in such other activities as necessary and appropriate\n\nfor the establishment and maintenance of a statewide system of\n\nexpert medical examination and evaluation of children suspected to\n\nbe victims of child abuse and neglect, subject to the approval and\n\nauthorization of the Commission.\n\nC. The Chief Child Abuse Examiner shall be a physician with\n\nexperience in the area of child abuse and neglect and, as requested\n\nor directed by the Board, shall:\n\n1. Provide consultant services to the Board as necessary for\n\nthe preparation of the rules, standards and forms required by\n\nsubsection A of this section;\n\n2. Assist the Board and the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma\n\nState University with the development, implementation, maintenance\n\nand coordination of the training programs required by this section;\n\n3. Prepare written reports for the Board and the Commission\n\nregarding progress of the system established by this act; and\n\n4.
