Stat. tit. 10A, § 10A-1-10-103","heading":"Child Welfare Review Committee for the Death and","body":"Near Death of Children With Disabilities.\n\nA. There is hereby created, to continue until December 31,\n\n2018, the \"Child Welfare Review Committee for the Death and Near\n\nDeath of Children With Disabilities\". The purpose of the Committee\n\nshall be to study cases of the death and near death of children with\n\ndisabilities who have previous child welfare involvement with or are\n\nin the custody and care of the Department of Human Services.\n\nB. All meetings and records of the Committee shall be\n\nconfidential and shall not be open to the general public or\n\ninspected or their contents disclosed.\n\nC. The Committee shall consist of ten (10) members as follows:\n\n1. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, or designee;\n\n2. The President Pro Tempore of the Senate, or designee;\n\n3. The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, or\n\ndesignee;\n\n4. The Minority Leader of the Senate, or designee;\n\n5. The Attorney General, or designee;\n\n6. The Director of the Department of Human Services, or\n\ndesignee;\n\n7. The Advocate General of the Department of Human Services;\n\n8. The Superintendent of Public Instruction, or designee;\n\n9. The Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court, or\n\ndesignee; and\n\n10. A medical expert in children with disabilities, appointed\n\nby the Governor.\n\nD. Appointments to the Committee shall be made by September 1,\n\n2016. Members of the Committee shall serve at the pleasure of the\n\nappointing authority. A vacancy on the Committee shall be filled by\n\nthe appointing authority.\n\nE. The Committee shall conduct an organizational meeting not\n\nlater than October 1, 2016. The Committee shall elect a chair and\n\ncochair at the organizational meeting. A majority of the members\n\npresent at a meeting shall constitute a quorum to conduct business.\n\nF. The Committee shall meet as often as necessary to review\n\ncases, but at least quarterly. Members of the Committee shall\n\nreceive no compensation or travel reimbursement for their service.\n\nG. Administrative support for the Committee including, but not\n\nlimited to, personnel necessary to ensure the proper performance of\n\nthe duties and responsibilities of the Committee shall be provided\n\nby the staff of the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth and\n\nthe Department of Human Services.\n\nH. The Committee shall issue a report of its findings to the\n\nLegislature and Governor no later than December 1, 2018.
