After a petition has been filed, the court may order the\n\nchild to be examined and evaluated by a physician or other\n\nappropriate professional to aid the court in making the proper\n\ndisposition concerning the child. The court may order a behavioral\n\nhealth evaluation of a child as provided by the Inpatient Mental\n\nHealth and Substance Abuse Treatment of Minors Act.\n\nB. After adjudication and at the request of a judge in any\n\njuvenile proceeding, the Department of Human Services shall\n\ninvestigate the home conditions and environment of the child and the\n\nfinancial ability, occupation and earning capacity of the parent,\n\nlegal guardian or custodian of the child. Upon request by the court\n\nof another state, the Department may conduct a similar\n\ninvestigation.\n\nC. Within sixty (60) days of the start of each placement of a\n\nchild in a qualified residential treatment program as defined in\n\nSection 1-1-105 of this title, the court shall set a hearing to:\n\n1. Consider the assessment, determination, and documentation\n\nmade by the qualified individual conducting the assessment and\n\nsubmitted as part of the Department's written report;\n\n2. Determine whether the needs of the child can be met through\n\nplacement in a foster family home or, if not, determine whether\n\nplacement of the child in a qualified residential treatment program\n\nprovides the most effective and appropriate level of care for the\n\nchild in the least restrictive environment;\n\n3. Determine whether the child's current placement is\n\nconsistent with the short-term and long-term goals for the child, as\n\nspecified in the permanency plan for the child; and\n\n4.
