In cases where the child has been adjudicated to be deprived\n\ndue to repeated absence from school, the court may order counseling\n\nand treatment for the child and the parents.\n\nB. Prior to final disposition, the court shall require\n\nverification by the appropriate school district that the child found\n\nto be truant has been evaluated for literacy, learning disabilities,\n\ndevelopmental disabilities, hearing and visual impairment, and other\n\nimpediments which could constitute an educational handicap. The\n\nresults of such assessments or evaluations shall be made available\n\nto the court for use by the court in determining the disposition of\n\nthe case.\n\nC. No child who has been adjudicated deprived upon the basis of\n\nnoncompliance with the mandatory school attendance law alone may be\n\nplaced in a public or private institutional facility or be removed\n\nfrom the custody of the lawful parent, legal guardian, or custodian\n\nof the child.\n\nD.
