The court may issue an order directing the county sheriff or\n\nhis designee of the county in which the court is located to provide\n\ntransportation to a child who is the subject of a deprived\n\nproceeding, regardless of where the child is placed within the\n\nstate, for purposes of the following:\n\n1. Transferring the child from his or her current placement to\n\na designated inpatient treatment facility, as more further defined\n\nin the Inpatient Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment of\n\nMinors Act;\n\n2. Transferring the child from the inpatient treatment facility\n\nto court for hearing;\n\n3. Transferring the child from an out-of-county placement to\n\ncourt for hearing and returning the child back to the out-of-county\n\nplacement; and\n\n4. Assisting the Department of Human Services in transporting a\n\nchild from any location to placement when requested by the\n\nDepartment for purposes of ensuring the safekeeping of the child as\n\nwell as the Department employee.\n\nB. 1. The Department shall provide reimbursement to the county\n\nsheriff or his designee for necessary and actual expenses for\n\ntransporting the child as follows:\n\na. a fee for the cost of personal services at the rate of\n\nTwelve Dollars ($12.00) per hour,\n\nb. mileage reimbursement for each mile actually traveled\n\nat the rate established in the State Travel\n\nReimbursement Act,\n\nc. meals for transporting personnel, not to exceed Seven\n\nDollars ($7.00) per meal, and\n\nd. meals for the child being transported, not to exceed\n\nSeven Dollars ($7.00) per meal.\n\n2. The Department shall process and mail reimbursement claims\n\nwithin sixty (60) days of receipt. Payments for services provided\n\nby the county sheriff’s office shall be paid to the county and\n\ndeposited in the sheriff’s service fee account.\n\nC.
