Stat. tit. 10A, § 10A-2-6-107","heading":"Fingerprinting of persons under 18","body":"The fingerprinting of persons under eighteen (18) years of age\n\nshall be as prescribed by law for the fingerprinting of adults,\n\nexcept as specified by the provisions of this section.\n\n1. When a child is detained or arrested in the course of an\n\ninvestigation of a criminal offense and:\n\na. a comparison of the fingerprints of the child with\n\nfingerprints found during the investigation of the\n\noffense is negative, or\n\nb. a court finds that the child did not commit the\n\nalleged offense,\n\nall law enforcement records of the arrest and, if applicable,\n\njuvenile court and agency records shall be amended to reflect said\n\nfacts immediately after the comparison or court finding;\n\n2. Fingerprints obtained pursuant to this section shall be\n\nretained in a central state depository and in a local depository\n\nmaintained by a duly constituted law enforcement agency;\n\n3. Fingerprints obtained and maintained pursuant to this\n\nsection may be used only by law enforcement officers for comparison\n\npurposes in connection with the investigation of a crime or to\n\nestablish identity in instances of death, serious illness, runaways,\n\nor emergency; and\n\n4. If a child is reported to a law enforcement agency as a\n\nmissing child or a custodial parent, legal guardian or legal\n\ncustodian of a child requests the issuance of a fingerprint card\n\npursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Minor Identification Act,\n\nthe provisions of the Oklahoma Minor Identification Act shall apply.\n\nWith the voluntary and informed consent of the parent, legal\n\nguardian or legal custodian of the child, fingerprints obtained and\n\nmaintained pursuant to the Oklahoma Minor Identification Act may be\n\nused by law enforcement officers as provided by paragraph 3 of this\n\nsection.","path":["OK Code","Title 10A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os10A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"54cf816122fbd6ee7f9759ff41a4f2f15e7ee69f68cbe1b3cb2eae342f192971","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10a-10a-2-6-106","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10a-10a-2-6-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
