Upon discovery that a juvenile or youthful offender has run\n\naway or is absent without leave (AWOL) from a staff-secure or\n\nnonsecure placement, the Office of Juvenile Affairs may notify any\n\nlaw enforcement officer or agency in this state who shall use any\n\nreasonable method to notify law enforcement agencies and personnel.\n\nAll law enforcement agencies and personnel shall be authorized to\n\napprehend and detain such juvenile or youthful offender.\n\nB. 1. Running away or being absent without leave (AWOL) by a\n\njuvenile from a staff-secure or nonsecure placement shall be\n\nconsidered by the court of juvenile jurisdiction as a delinquent\n\nact.\n\n2.
