Stat. tit. 10A, § 10A-2-8-108","heading":"Transfer of registration to adult sex offender","body":"registry - Petition.\n\nWhen a registered juvenile sex offender reaches twenty-one (21)\n\nyears of age or is otherwise released from the custody of the Office\n\nof Juvenile Affairs, the district attorney may petition the court to\n\ntransfer the person’s registration to the adult sex offender\n\nregistry maintained by the Department of Corrections, subject to the\n\nprovisions of Section 581 et seq. of Title 57 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes. After notice, if the court determines at a hearing that\n\nthe person who is registered on the juvenile sex offender registry\n\nis likely to or does pose an ongoing serious or aggressive threat to\n\nthe public or children under sixteen (16) years of age, the court\n\nshall order that the delinquent act be deemed an adult criminal\n\nconviction for the purpose of registration, notification, and public\n\ninformation access pursuant to Section 581 et seq. of Title 57 of\n\nthe Oklahoma Statutes. If no petition is filed within ninety (90)\n\ndays following the twenty-first birthday of the person or the date\n\nof release from custody, or if the court determines the person is\n\nnot likely to or does not pose an ongoing serious or aggressive\n\nthreat to the public or children under sixteen (16) years of age,\n\nthe juvenile’s name and information shall be deleted from the\n\njuvenile sex offender registry, and the person may not be included\n\nin the adult sex offender registry.","path":["OK Code","Title 10A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os10A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"fa8579c32fb7178bed0977a1e74bacb93a3eb3410d51133189651c209258f5fd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10a-10a-2-8-107","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-10a-10a-2-8-109"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
