Stat. tit. 11, § 11-12-109","heading":"Town clerk - Creation and duties - Compensation","body":"The town clerk shall be an officer of the town. The town clerk\n\nshall:\n\n1. keep the journal of the proceedings of the board of\n\ntrustees; and\n\n2. enroll all ordinances and resolutions passed by the board of\n\ntrustees in a book or set of books kept for that purpose;and\n\n3. have custody of documents, records, and archives, as may be\n\nprovided for by law or by ordinance, and have custody of the town\n\nseal; and\n\n4. attest and affix the seal of the town to documents as\n\nrequired by law or by ordinance; and\n\n5. have such other powers, duties, and functions related to his\n\nstatutory duties as may be prescribed by law or by ordinance. The\n\nperson who serves as town clerk may be employed by the town to\n\nperform duties not related to his position as town clerk.
