Stat. tit. 11, § 11-13-114","heading":"Special charter provisions relating to abandonment of","body":"municipal charters.\n\nWhere a municipality has adopted a charter containing a special\n\nprovision to the effect that at the expiration of a specified period\n\nafter the adoption of the charter the governing body may submit to\n\nthe registered voters of the municipality the question of whether or\n\nnot the charter shall be abandoned and the municipality governed\n\nunder a statutory form of government, and the specified time has\n\nexpired and the governing body has failed to submit the question,\n\nthen the question shall be submitted to the registered voters at the\n\nnext election which may be held in the municipality. The secretary\n\nof the county election board shall submit the question substantially\n\nin the language of the charter provision.
