The governing body of a municipality may, from time to time,\n\nauthorize a codification of its ordinances. Such a code may be kept\n\nup to date by use of a loose-leaf system and process of amendment.\n\nIn a code of municipal ordinances, the title, enacting clauses and\n\nemergency sections may be omitted and temporary and special\n\nordinances and parts of ordinances may also be omitted. Permanent\n\nand general ordinances and parts of ordinances which are to be\n\nrepealed by the code shall be omitted from the code. The ordinances\n\nand parts of ordinances included in the code may be revised,\n\nrearranged, renumbered, and reorganized into some systematic\n\narrangement. The governing body may publish in connection with the\n\ncode new matter, provisions of state law relating to the\n\nmunicipality, a history of the municipality, the history of the\n\nmunicipal government, the names of officials and other informational\n\nmatter as the governing body may decide. The book or pamphlet\n\ncontaining the code may also contain an index and forms and\n\ninstructions as the governing body may decide.\n\nB. At least three copies of the code shall be kept in the\n\noffice of the municipal clerk for public use, inspection and\n\nexamination. The municipal clerk shall keep copies of the code for\n\ndistribution or sale at a reasonable price.\n\nC.
