Stat. tit. 11, § 11-14-111.1","heading":"Retention of penalty assessments or other state fees","body":"A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a municipal\n\ncourt which collects a penalty assessment or other state fee from a\n\ndefendant pursuant to state law may retain eight cents ($0.08) of\n\nsuch monies and may also retain all interest accrued thereon prior\n\nto the due date for deposits as provided in state law. The fee\n\nshall be deposited as determined by the municipal governing body.\n\nB. A municipal court in a municipality having a basic law\n\nenforcement academy approved by the Council on Law Enforcement\n\nEducation and Training pursuant to the criteria developed by the\n\nCouncil for training law enforcement officers may retain as an\n\nadministrative fee two percent (2%) of any penalty assessment or\n\nother state fee imposed by state statute.
