Stat. tit. 11, § 11-16-201","heading":"Aldermanic cities with one councilmember per ward -","body":"Officers to be elected - Terms.\n\nIn a statutory aldermanic city with one (1) councilmember per\n\nward, the terms of the elected officers shall be staggered so that\n\nat any one general municipal election, the following officers are to\n\nbe elected for four-year terms:\n\n1. Councilmembers from odd-numbered wards;\n\n2. The mayor;\n\n3. The clerk;\n\n4. The marshal; and\n\n5. The street commissioner.\n\nAt the next general municipal election, the following officers\n\nare to be elected for four-year terms:\n\n1. Councilmembers from even-numbered wards; and\n\n2. The treasurer.\n\nIf the office of treasurer has been consolidated with any other\n\noffice, elections for the office of treasurer and the office with\n\nwhich it has been consolidated shall be held at the time the\n\nelection to fill the other office is held.
