Stat. tit. 11, § 11-16-308","heading":"Election of municipal officers","body":"A person present at the meeting electing him or her to municipal\n\noffice shall be treated as accepting, unless he or she declines\n\nbefore the meeting is adjourned. When not present, he or she shall\n\nbe served as soon as possible with a written notice of election,\n\nsigned and mailed by the municipal clerk.
