Stat. tit. 11, § 11-18-101","heading":"Procedure for changing form of government - Petition or","body":"governing body resolution.\n\nAny city operating pursuant to a statutory form of city\n\ngovernment may change to any one of the other statutory forms of\n\ncity government. The mayor shall issue an order calling for an\n\nelection on the question of whether or not the city shall change its\n\nform of government if:\n\n1. an initiative petition is filed with the governing body of\n\nthe municipality; or\n\n2. the governing body, by resolution, so directs.\n\nThe initiative petition or resolution of the governing body shall be\n\nfiled at least one hundred twenty (120) days before the filing date\n\nfor the next municipal general election and shall include the form\n\nof government which is proposed for adoption.
