Stat. tit. 11, § 11-19-103","heading":"Ballots - Certification of results - Order","body":"The question submitted to the registered voters of the\n\nmunicipality shall be substantially in the following form:\n\nShall the ________ (City or Town) of ________ change its\n\nname to the (City or Town) of ________?\n\n( ) Yes.\n\n( ) No.\n\nThe secretary of the county election board shall, within five\n\n(5) days after the canvass of returns, certify the results of the\n\nelection on the question to the governing body. If a majority of\n\nthe votes cast are in favor of adopting the new name, the governing\n\nbody shall, within twenty (20) days after receiving the\n\ncertification, adopt a resolution stating that the name of the\n\nmunicipality has been changed and giving the new name of the\n\nmunicipality. The resolution shall also state the date that the\n\nchange will take effect.
