Stat. tit. 11, § 11-21-205","heading":"Additional powers of governing body in relocating","body":"municipality.\n\nIn relocating a municipality subject to inundation, the\n\ngoverning body may also:\n\n1. Provide by ordinance for the acquisition of a new site\n\nthrough the exercise of the right of condemnation in the manner\n\nprovided by law for municipalities, or by negotiated purchases or in\n\nany other lawful manner;\n\n2. Provide for the reimbursement of owners of the annexed\n\nproperty through the issuance of bonds in the manner provided by law\n\nfor cities and towns, and hold any necessary bond election together\n\nwith the special election on the question of annexation and\n\nrelocation, or through the encumbrance of the acquired property or\n\nin any other lawful manner;\n\n3. Provide for the administration of the annexed property,\n\nincluding, but not limited to, the authority to zone and other\n\nsimilar and usual powers for regulating use and development of\n\nrealty and the power to provide for and regulate the sale of lots\n\nand excess property, if any, and to enact ordinances as will\n\nfacilitate the orderly and equitable relocation of the municipality;\n\nand\n\n4.
