Stat. tit. 11, § 11-22-101","heading":"Corporate powers of municipalities","body":"All incorporated municipalities shall be bodies corporate and\n\npolitic, and shall have the powers to:\n\n1. Sue and be sued;\n\n2. Purchase and hold real and personal property for the use of\n\nthe municipality;\n\n3. Sell and convey any real or personal property owned by the\n\nmunicipality and make orders respecting the same as may be conducive\n\nto the best interests of the municipality;\n\n4. Make all contracts and do all other acts in relation to the\n\nproperty and affairs of the municipality, necessary to the good\n\ngovernment of the municipality, and to the exercise of its corporate\n\nand administrative powers; and\n\n5.
