Stat. tit. 11, § 11-22-124","heading":"Commercial development projects, market houses and","body":"marketplaces - Municipal buildings.\n\nThe municipal governing body may purchase ground for, erect,\n\nestablish, operate, and regulate retail or commercial redevelopment\n\nprojects, market houses, and marketplaces. The governing body may\n\ncontract with any person, company, or corporation for the erection,\n\noperation, and maintenance of such redevelopment projects, market\n\nhouses, and marketplaces on terms and conditions and in such manner\n\nas may be necessary and proper pursuant to the authority granted to\n\nit by the Constitution and laws of this state to protect and\n\npreserve such projects and markets for the benefit of the\n\nmunicipality and its citizens. The municipal governing body may\n\nraise all necessary revenue therefor.
