Stat. tit. 11, § 11-22-132.1","heading":"Municipal Records - Maintenance and protection -","body":"Availability.\n\nAny officer or employee of a municipality having custody of\n\nrecords or other documents of the municipality shall keep and\n\nmaintain such records in a manner and at a location prescribed by\n\nthe governing body. Such records shall be available for use by\n\nofficers and employees of the municipality as the governing body\n\nshall direct. The governing body shall establish policies and\n\nprocedures to preserve and protect the records of the municipality\n\nconsistent with other provisions of law providing for the\n\nconfidentiality of such records where appropriate and the\n\naccessibility of such records for inspection by the public.\n\nAdded Laws 1989, c. 255, § 2, emerg. eff.
