The governing body of any municipality or county may\n\ncontract for ambulance service with the state or any of its agencies\n\nor any other municipality, county, person, firm, or corporation or\n\ncombination thereof subject to such terms and conditions as may be\n\nagreed upon between the parties or in accordance with the\n\nrequirements of the Interlocal Cooperation Act. Such contracts, if\n\nwith a person, firm, or corporation, shall provide for the carrying\n\nof liability insurance in a sum of not less than the risk of\n\nliability of the municipality pursuant to the provisions of Section\n\n154 of Title 51 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nB. Any employee of a municipality, county, or public trust,\n\nengaging in ambulance or emergency service provided by the employer\n\nshall be entitled to all benefits of any pension fund or insurance\n\nbenefits to which such employee might otherwise be entitled. If the\n\nemployee of any city, town, county, or public trust performs\n\nambulance or emergency service in his off-duty hours in addition to\n\nsuch employee's principal employment, the time spent in such\n\nadditional duty shall not be counted toward the person's pension and\n\nthe compensation received shall not be used to calculate the pension\n\nthat person may receive at some future time.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7e68586c13f29fb89b132d8be946c7935606a9df2faf2e06b422bb4b6b1415a5","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-23-103.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-23-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
