As used in Section 24-101 et seq. of this title\n\nthe following words shall have the following meanings unless the\n\ncontext clearly indicates otherwise:\n\nA. \"Authority\" shall mean the Oklahoma Municipal Power\n\nAuthority hereby created and any successor or successors thereto.\n\nAny change in name or composition of the Authority shall in no way\n\naffect the vested rights of any person under the provisions of\n\nSection 24-101 et seq. of this title or impair the obligations of\n\nany contracts existing under Section 24-101 et seq. of this title.\n\nB. \"Board of Directors\" shall mean the Board of Directors\n\nelected by the election committee as set forth in Section 24-104 of\n\nthis title which shall exercise all the powers and manage and\n\ncontrol all the affairs and property of the Authority unless\n\notherwise specifically provided herein or in the bylaws of the\n\nAuthority as in effect from time to time.\n\nC. \"Bonds\" shall mean any revenue bonds, notes or other\n\nevidences of obligations of the Authority issued by the Authority\n\nunder the provisions of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority Act\n\nincluding, without limitation, bond anticipation notes and refunding\n\nbonds.\n\nD. \"Eligible public agency\" shall mean any municipality,\n\nauthority or other public body which owns, maintains or operates an\n\nelectrical energy generation, transmission or distribution system\n\nwithin this state.\n\nE. \"Person\" shall mean (i) any natural person; (ii) any\n\neligible public agency as defined herein; (iii) any public trust as\n\ndefined herein; (iv) the United States, any state, any municipality,\n\npolitical subdivision, municipal corporation, unit of local\n\ngovernment, governmental unit or public corporation created by or\n\npursuant to the laws of the United States or any state, or any\n\nboard, corporation or other entity or body declared by the laws of\n\nthe United States or any state to be a department, agency or\n\ninstrumentality thereof; (v) any corporation, not for profit\n\ncorporation, firm, partnership, cooperative association, electric\n\ncooperative or business trust of any nature whatsoever organized and\n\nexisting under the laws of the United States or any state; or (vi)\n\nany foreign country, any political subdivision or governmental unit\n\nof any foreign country or any corporation, not for profit\n\ncorporation, firm, partnership, cooperative association, electric\n\ncooperative or business trust of any nature whatsoever organized and\n\nexisting under the laws of any foreign country or of any political\n\nsubdivision or governmental entity thereof.\n\nF. \"Project\" shall mean any plant, works, system, facilities\n\nand real and personal property of any nature whatsoever, together\n\nwith all parts thereof and appurtenances thereto, located within or\n\nwithout this state, used or useful in the generation, production,\n\ntransmission, purchase, sale, exchange or interchange of electrical\n\nenergy and in the acquisition, extraction, processing,\n\ntransportation or storage or of fuel of any kind for any such\n\npurposes or any interest in, or right to the use, services, output\n\nor capacity, of any such plant, works, system or facilities.\n\nG. \"Public trust\" shall mean any public trust created and\n\nexisting under the provisions of the Trusts for Furtherance of\n\nPublic Functions, as provided by Section 176 et seq. of Title 60 of\n\nthe Oklahoma Statutes, and the Oklahoma Trust Act, as provided by\n\nSection 175.1 et seq. of Title 60 of the Oklahoma Statutes, which\n\nhas as its beneficiary a municipality and which owns, maintains or\n\noperates an electrical energy generation, transmission or\n\ndistribution system serving the residents and consumers of such\n\nmunicipality.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7d2163c58b4ac355ab075e667af8b20ab1c1b68c706b1b0f11d164c202567a3d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-24-104","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-24-106"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
