Stat. tit. 11, § 11-29-102","heading":"Fire chief - Duties - Qualifications - Activity report","body":"forms.\n\nAll cities having a paid fire department shall have one full-\n\ntime fire chief who shall supervise and administer the fire\n\ndepartment in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed\n\nby the governing body or by the city manager. The fire department\n\nshall be under the direction and control of the fire chief who shall\n\nnot serve as fire chief and also as police chief, city manager,\n\nmayor or any other position that impairs the ability to perform the\n\nduties of a fire chief. The fire chief, whether permanent or\n\ninterim, of any paid municipal fire department shall have had at\n\nleast three (3) years' actual experience as a paid fire fighter\n\nbefore assuming the position of fire chief. It shall be the duty of\n\nthe fire chief to file the appropriate activity reports utilizing\n\nthe National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS) with the\n\nOffice of the State Fire Marshal in Oklahoma City. The activity\n\nreport forms shall include, but not be limited to, the amount of\n\nproperty and vehicle fire loss, types of fires, inspections and\n\ninvestigations that occurred. The report shall include notification\n\nof all fire-related civilian deaths and injuries in the respective\n\njurisdiction and of fire fighter deaths in the line of duty and of\n\nfire fighter injuries in the line of duty requiring the services of\n\na hospital or physician or both, and these fire-related burn\n\ninjuries and death reports shall be completed within forty-eight\n\n(48) hours of the incident.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ad24cc3580b5dd53f4316def76df664e5c8b33164e89d31626e342ad907de184","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-29-101","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-29-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
