The question submitted to the registered voters of the\n\nmunicipality shall be substantially in the following form:\n\nShall the City of ___________ contract for fire protection services\n\nwith a private entity, organization, corporation or company?\n\n( ) Yes\n\n( ) No\n\n2. If the question includes the transfer of capital assets used\n\nin fire protection services, a second question shall be submitted to\n\nthe registered voters of the municipality and shall be substantially\n\nin the following form:\n\nShall the City of ___________ transfer ownership of capital assets\n\nused in fire protection services to a public trust for use by the\n\nprivate entity, organization, corporation or company in providing\n\nsuch services?\n\n( ) Yes\n\n( ) No\n\nB. 1. The secretary of the county election board shall, within\n\nfive (5) days after the canvass of returns, certify the results of\n\nthe election on the question to the governing body.\n\n2. If a majority of the votes cast are in favor of contracting\n\nfor fire protection services with a private entity, organization,\n\ncorporation or company, the governing body shall, within twenty (20)\n\ndays after receiving the certification, adopt a resolution stating\n\nthat the city or town will contract for fire protection services\n\nwith a private entity, organization, corporation or company pursuant\n\nto a solicitation of proposals on a competitive bid basis pursuant\n\nto the provisions of the Oklahoma Central Purchasing Act.\n\n3. If a majority of the votes cast are in favor of transferring\n\nownership of capital assets used in fire protection services to a\n\npublic trust for use by the private entity, organization,\n\ncorporation or company in providing such services, the governing\n\nbody shall, within twenty (20) days after receiving the\n\ncertification, adopt a resolution stating that the city or town will\n\ncreate a public trust for such purpose and transfer ownership of the\n\nassets to the public trust.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"17b1660a6465b33dd0b50f90ef8a36ea9dd28b77ea803c1dfe73a12379941f95","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-29-110","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-29-112"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
