There shall be levied an annual assessment no greater than\n\nfive (5) mills on the dollar of assessed value of the types of\n\nproperty in the district as provided in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of\n\nsubsection A of Section 2803 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\nthe proceeds of which shall be used for the operation and\n\nmaintenance of the public safety protection district including\n\nexpenses related to any of the following, or combination of the\n\nfollowing purposes:\n\n1. Purchasing and maintaining public safety equipment;\n\n2. Purchasing and maintaining public safety vehicles;\n\n3. Payment of salaries and benefits of the municipal employees\n\nwho provide law enforcement or fire protection public safety\n\nservices or both law enforcement and fire protection public safety\n\nservices within the district;\n\n4. Payment of salaries and benefits of the municipal employees\n\nwho provide emergency medical services; or\n\n5. Payment for emergency medical services provided by the\n\nmunicipality.\n\nSuch proceeds may also be used for payment of any costs related\n\nto fire and police operations. Such assessment shall only be levied\n\non the types of property located in the district as provided in\n\nparagraphs 1, 2 and 3 of subsection A of Section 2803 of Title 68 of\n\nthe Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nB. The annual assessment provided in subsection A of this\n\nsection shall not apply to real property zoned for agricultural or\n\nindustrial land use, livestock employed in support of the family,\n\nimplements of husbandry as defined by Section 1-125 of Title 47 of\n\nthe Oklahoma Statutes, personal property owned by agricultural\n\nbusiness entities and public service corporations as defined by\n\nSection 2808 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma Statutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"bd0c3c35a1f14090d193bb14374d6b797d81ac95f356c02a544c743527e69b33","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-29-155","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-29-157"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
