Stat. tit. 11, § 11-29-204","heading":"Minimum rules and regulations of volunteer fire","body":"department.\n\nAny municipality which has volunteers enrolled as members of the\n\nfire department shall adopt by ordinance a code of minimum rules and\n\nregulations in substantial compliance with the following:\n\nArticle 1. The Fire Chief.\n\n(a) The chief shall be the head of the department, subject to\n\nthe laws of the State of Oklahoma, ordinances of this municipality,\n\nand the rules and regulations adopted pursuant to this section. The\n\nchief shall be appointed in the manner provided by law applicable to\n\nthis municipality for the appointment of municipal officers.\n\n(b) The chief shall be responsible for the general condition\n\nand efficient operation of the department, the training of members,\n\nand the performance of all other duties imposed upon him by law or\n\nthe municipality.\n\n(c) The chief may inspect or cause to be inspected by members\n\nof the department, the municipal fire hydrants, cisterns, and other\n\nsources of water supply of the municipality at least twice a year.\n\n(d) The chief shall maintain a library or file of publications\n\non fire prevention and fire protection and shall make use of it to\n\nthe best advantage of all members.\n\n(e) The chief shall make every effort to attend all fires and\n\nshall direct the officers and members in the performance of their\n\nduties.\n\n(f) The chief shall see that the citizens are kept informed on\n\nfire hazards in the community and on the activities of the\n\ndepartment.\n\n(g) The chief shall see that each fire is carefully\n\ninvestigated to determine its cause, and in the case of suspicion of\n\nincendiarism shall notify proper authorities. The chief shall\n\nsecure and preserve all possible evidence for future use in the case\n\nof suspicious incendiarism.\n\n(h) The chief shall file the appropriate activity report forms\n\nwith the Office of the State Fire Marshal in Oklahoma City on an\n\nannual basis. The activity report forms shall be designed by the\n\nState Fire Marshal and shall include, but not be limited to, the\n\namount of property and vehicle fire loss, types of fires,\n\ninspections and investigations. The report shall include\n\nnotification of all fire-related civilian deaths and injuries in the\n\nrespective jurisdiction and of fire fighter deaths in the line of\n\nduty and of fire fighter injuries in the line of duty requiring the\n\nservices of a hospital or physician or both.\n\nArticle 2. The Assistant Chief.\n\nIn the absence of the chief, the assistant chief on duty shall\n\ncommand the department and shall have the full powers and\n\nresponsibilities of the chief.\n\nArticle 3. Company Officers.\n\nThe company officers shall be selected upon their: 1. knowledge\n\nof fire fighting, 2. leadership ability, and 3. knowledge of fire\n\nfighting equipment.\n\nArticle 4. The Secretary-Treasurer.\n\nOne member elected by the fire department shall be secretary-\n\ntreasurer. His duties shall consist of the following: 1. Calling\n\nthe roll at the opening of each meeting, 2. Keeping the minutes of\n\neach meeting, and 3. Collecting any money due the department by the\n\nmembers.\n\nArticle 5. New Members.\n\n(a) All new members shall be on probation for one (1) year\n\nafter their appointment.\n\n(b) New volunteer members upon completion of their probation\n\nperiod must be approved by the majority of the fire department.\n\nArticle 6. Bylaws.\n\nThe bylaws of the department shall include but shall not be\n\nlimited to the following:\n\n(a) All volunteer fire fighters are required to respond to\n\nalarms of fire and other emergencies when notified.\n\n(b) A volunteer fire fighter is required to be present at all\n\nregular meetings, call meetings, and schools presented for the\n\nbenefit of the fire fighters.\n\n(c) There shall be at least one regular business meeting each\n\nmonth.\n:\n\n(a) All volunteer fire fighters are required to respond to\n\nalarms of fire and other emergencies when notified.\n\n(b) A volunteer fire fighter is required to be present at all\n\nregular meetings, call meetings, and schools presented for the\n\nbenefit of the fire fighters.\n\n(c) There shall be at least one regular business meeting each\n\nmonth.\n\n(d) Any volunteer fire fighter having two unexcused absences in\n\nsuccession or three unexcused absences in a period of three (3)\n\nmonths will be expelled from the fire department rolls.\n\n(e) Volunteer fire fighters leaving the municipality for an\n\nextended period of time will be required to notify the chief.\n\n(f) Any volunteer fire fighter refusing to attend training\n\nclasses provided for him will be expelled from the rolls.\n\n(g) Any volunteer member of the fire department shall be\n\nexpelled from the rolls for the following offenses: 1. Conduct\n\nunbecoming a fire fighter, 2. Any act of insubordination, 3. Neglect\n\nof duty, 4. Any violation of rules and regulations governing the\n\nfire department, or 5.
