Stat. tit. 11, § 11-33-111","heading":"Petition for recreation programs - Submission of","body":"question to voters.\n\nWhenever a petition is signed by at least five percent (5%) of\n\nthe registered voters of a governmental unit requesting its\n\ngoverning body to provide, establish, maintain, conduct, either\n\nsingly or jointly with one or more of the other governmental units\n\nspecified herein, a recreation system and an appropriate amount of\n\nfunds necessary for the establishment thereof, it shall be the duty\n\nof the governing body of the governmental unit to cause the question\n\nof establishment, maintenance and conduct of the recreational system\n\nor facilities to be submitted to the registered voters of the\n\ngovernmental unit, and the proposition of the issuance of bonds\n\ntherefor to be voted on in a special or general election.
