Stat. tit. 11, § 11-35-101","heading":"Extension of utility lines and service beyond corporate","body":"limits.\n\nAny municipality owning or operating its own system of\n\ngenerating or distributing energy or utilities, and any municipality\n\nengaged in the distribution of energy or utilities, may extend its\n\nlines, mains, and channels together with necessary appurtenances\n\nbeyond the corporate limits of the municipality. Such municipality\n\nmay acquire, erect, construct and own all necessary poles, wire,\n\nlines, pipelines, mains, channels together with necessary\n\nappurtenances, apparatus and substations, and acquire rights-of-way,\n\nand do all other things necessary and proper in carrying on the\n\nbusiness outside of the corporate limits of the municipality to the\n\nsame effect as it may now do within the corporate limits of the\n\nmunicipality.
