Stat. tit. 11, § 11-36-102","heading":"Resurfacing streets - Procedures and payment of cost","body":"Regardless of the type or character of the existing surface, the\n\nmunicipal governing body may resurface, with such material or\n\nmaterials as the governing body deems proper, any street, avenue,\n\nboulevard, lane, or alley, or any part or parts thereof, within the\n\nmunicipality, which has heretofore been paved, macadamized, black-\n\ntopped, chatted, graveled, or otherwise improved. The municipality\n\nmay pay, or provide for payment of, the cost of the resurfacing in\n\nany manner or by any procedure provided by statute for the paving,\n\nmacadamizing, black-topping, chatting, graveling, or otherwise\n\npermanently improving streets, avenues, lanes, and alleys in\n\nmunicipalities. The governing body, in its discretion, may also\n\nprovide for the payment of any portion of the cost of the\n\nresurfacing from the street and alley fund of the municipality; from\n\nrevenue from parking meters; or from any funds derived from leasing\n\nor other uses of streets and alleys, or other funds available for\n\nthe maintenance and repair of such streets, avenues, boulevards,\n\nlanes or alleys.
