Stat. tit. 11, § 11-36-116","heading":"Duties of railways as to paving and street","body":"improvements.\n\nWhen a railway occupies any portion of a street with its tracks\n\nrunning in the general direction of the street, either on or\n\nadjacent thereto, the railway company shall improve the space\n\nbetween its tracks, and two (2) feet on either side thereof, in the\n\nsame manner that the remainder of the street is to be improved, or\n\nwith such other material as the municipality may require. Where any\n\nrailway company occupies an alley with its track or tracks, the\n\ncompany shall be required to improve, gutter, drain, grade or pave,\n\nchat or gravel such alley in the manner that may be required by the\n\nordinances of the municipality. Where any railway company crosses\n\nany street that is being or has been paved, the governing body may\n\nrequire the railway company to pave so much of the street as may be\n\noccupied by its track or tracks and two (2) feet on each side, and\n\nwhen more than one track crosses the street within a distance of one\n\nhundred (100) feet, measuring from inside rail to inside rail, the\n\nrailway company shall grade, gutter, drain, curb, pave, chat or\n\ngravel, or improve between its tracks in the same manner as the\n\nmunicipality may be improving or has improved the other portion of\n\nthe street.
