Stat. tit. 11, § 11-37-104","heading":"Acquiring lands - Protection from contamination","body":"Any municipality may purchase or condemn and hold the perpetual\n\nright to use any lots or lands, either within or without the\n\ncorporate limits of the municipality, which the municipal governing\n\nbody determines by resolution to be necessary for acquisition by the\n\nmunicipality in order to locate and build or enlarge, at the time or\n\nin the future, waterworks and every auxiliary part thereof,\n\nincluding reservoir site or sites to be flooded, and the lands\n\nadjacent thereto and within six hundred sixty (660) feet of the\n\nmargin of the reservoir at maximum high water. The governing body\n\nmay protect from possible contamination or pollution and police any\n\nsuch lands in order to protect any reservoir already constructed or\n\nproposed to be constructed or enlarged as a part of any municipal\n\nwaterworks plant or water supply, the waters thereof, and the waters\n\nflowing therein or percolating or seeping thereto. The property and\n\nland so acquired before and after the passage of this subarticle,\n\ninsofar as such lands are within six hundred sixty (660) feet of the\n\nmargin of a reservoir at maximum high water and necessary for\n\nnatural drainage into the reservoir, shall not be used by the\n\nmunicipality, its lessees or assigns, or other persons or\n\ncorporations, for any purpose other than the protection of the\n\nreservoir and the waters thereof from contamination and pollution.\n\nNo structures shall be placed on such lands by the municipality,\n\nindividual or corporation, except as are necessary in the\n\nfurtherance of the protection of the reservoir from contamination or\n\npollution, and in the use of the water.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"b01cfb8d890758d09e18a77b105cdc7f9040f41e949412796604ecf3f200ae6a","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-37-103","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-37-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
