Stat. tit. 11, § 11-37-117","heading":"Acquiring lands and water for future needs - Sale","body":"outside corporate limits no defense.\n\nAny municipality owning and operating or proposing to own and\n\noperate a system of waterworks to supply the municipality, and the\n\ninhabitants thereof with water may provide for its contemplated\n\nfuture water and waterworks requirements, in advance of its\n\nimmediate needs. For that purpose the governing body may acquire\n\nlands and water both within and without the corporate limits of the\n\nmunicipality and within the State of Oklahoma. Such municipalities\n\nare vested with the power of eminent domain for that purpose, such\n\npower to be exercised in the manner provided by law for the\n\ncondemnation of lands by municipalities for waterworks purposes.
