Stat. tit. 11, § 11-37-120","heading":"Extension of lines beyond limits - Contracts for","body":"furnishing water outside limits.\n\nAny municipality owning or operating its own waterworks plant\n\nand every municipality engaged in the distribution of water may\n\nextend its lines beyond the corporate limits of such municipality\n\nand may acquire, construct, own, maintain and operate all necessary\n\nlines, apparatus and equipment, and acquire rights of way, and do\n\nall things necessary and proper in carrying on the business and\n\nfurnishing water to any person, firm, corporation or other\n\nmunicipality beyond the corporate limits of the municipality, to the\n\nsame extent as it may now do within the corporate limits of the\n\nmunicipality. All water so sold and furnished to persons, firms,\n\ncorporations and other municipalities beyond and without the\n\ncorporate limits of the municipality so selling and furnishing the\n\nsame shall be sold and furnished only under written contracts upon\n\nsuch terms and conditions as may be agreed upon by negotiation\n\nbetween the municipality and such persons, firms, corporations or\n\nother municipalities.
