Stat. tit. 11, § 11-37-121","heading":"Contract or lease for purchase, sale and distribution","body":"of water - Extensions.\n\nThe municipal governing body may enter into a contract or lease\n\nprogram as a governmental function for the purpose of buying,\n\nselling, or distributing water with any nonprofit organization,\n\nperson, or water development or distribution corporation inside or\n\noutside of the municipal limits in areas that the municipality is\n\nnot supplying or servicing with a source of water at the time that\n\nthe contract and lease arrangement is made. The annual contracts\n\nfor sale and purchase of water may be extended from year to year at\n\nthe option of the contracting parties.
