Stat. tit. 11, § 11-37-201","heading":"Authorization to establish lines and facilities - Joint","body":"efforts - Acceptance of grants.\n\nThe municipal governing body may:\n\n1. Authorize the construction of mains, submains and laterals\n\nfor sewers, also ditches, drains, conduits, pipelines and channels\n\nfor sanitary and drainage purposes, or either or both thereof, with\n\nlift stations, outlets, manholes, catch basins, flush tanks,\n\nconnecting sewers, ditches, drains, conduits, channels and other\n\nappurtenances in, under, over or through any street, or any land of\n\nthe municipality or any right-of-way granted or obtained for such\n\npurpose, either within or without the limits of the municipality;\n\n2. Authorize the construction of mains, submains and laterals\n\nfor water distribution lines, water distribution systems or\n\nwaterworks, and water supply facilities for same; also ditches,\n\ncanals, channels, conduits, pipelines and siphons, together with the\n\nnecessary or usual appurtenances for carrying storm water or water\n\nfrom irrigation ditches, water courses, streams, springs, wells,\n\nlakes, treating plants or other sources of supply into, through or\n\nout of the municipality in, under, over or through any street or any\n\nland of the municipality or any right-of-way granted or obtained for\n\nsuch purpose, either within or without the limits of the\n\nmunicipality;\n\n3. Join with other municipalities or any improvement district\n\nor sanitary district of the state, or any of its departments or\n\nagencies, the federal government or any of its departments, agencies\n\nor instrumentalities, as may be provided by law, in the\n\nconstruction, operation or maintenance of improvements authorized by\n\nthe provisions of Sections 37-201 through 37-234 of this title; and\n\n4. Accept from the state, or federal government, or any agency,\n\ndepartment or instrumentality of either, grants for or in aid of the\n\nconstruction or engineering planning of any of the improvements\n\nprovided herein, and enter into contracts with the state, the\n\nfederal government, or any agency, department or instrumentality of\n\neither or both, for the construction or supervision of construction\n\nby the state, the federal government, or any agency, department or\n\ninstrumentality, for either or both of any such improvements, in\n\naccordance with the plans, specifications, rules and regulations of\n\nthe state, the federal government, or any agency, department or\n\ninstrumentality or either or both, but reserving to the municipality\n\nthe right to assess against the property benefited by the\n\nimprovement and located within the municipality, that portion of the\n\ncost of the improvement which does not qualify for aid under the\n\nstate or federal grant.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"48436fa2c6c32677759740f58df9cecf9bba79462c03e94046705538c8fabb71","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-37-128","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-37-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
