Stat. tit. 11, § 11-37-214","heading":"Rules regarding protests - Sufficiency","body":"In determining the sufficiency of any protest or petition as\n\nprovided in Section 37-213 of this title, the governing body shall\n\nbe guided by these rules:\n\n1. Each paper containing signatures shall have attached thereto\n\nthe affidavit of an owner of property to be assessed, or his agent,\n\nstating that each signature was affixed in his presence and is the\n\nsigner's genuine signature;\n\n2. The protest or petition shall be counted only for the\n\nproperty described as belonging to the signer;\n\n3. The signature of one co-owner shall be counted only to the\n\nextent of the signer's interest in the property, but the signature\n\nof one joint tenant will protest or petition the entire interest;\n\n4. A protest or petition signed by a guardian, executor,\n\nadministrator or trustee shall be valid without an order of court\n\ntherefor; and\n\n5.
