Stat. tit. 11, § 11-42-112","heading":"Notice of court action by owners to foreclose or","body":"reopen.\n\nNotice of the verified petition by a property owner to foreclose\n\nthe right to reopen the public way or to reopen the public way shall\n\nbe given by:\n\n1. Service of summons to the municipality as provided in civil\n\naction;\n\n2. Service of summons to public service corporations,\n\ntransmission and utility companies or franchise holders having\n\nrights in the public way or easement; and\n\n3. a. Mailing by first class mail at least thirty (30) days\n\nbefore the hearing a copy of the petition and a copy\n\nof the notice to be published as provided in\n\nsubparagraph b of this paragraph to all owners of\n\nrecord, as shown by the current year's tax rolls in\n\nthe office of the county treasurer, of property\n\nabutting that portion of the public way or easement\n\nsought to be vacated, and such other owners of record\n\nwhose property abuts said public way or easement\n\nwithin three hundred (300) feet from that portion of\n\nsaid public way or easement sought to be vacated; and\n\nto any person, firm or corporation, not otherwise\n\nrequired to be notified, that is known by the\n\npetitioner to claim an interest or rights in the\n\npublic way or easement. An affidavit verifying the\n\nmailing of the petition and notice as provided for in\n\nthis subparagraph shall be filed in the action.\n\nb. Notice to the public shall be given by one (1)\n\npublication in a newspaper of general circulation\n\npublished in the county where the property is located,\n\nwhich publication shall be at least thirty (30) days\n\nprior to the hearing.
