Stat. tit. 11, § 11-43-109","heading":"Appointment of zoning commission","body":"In order to avail itself of the powers conferred by this\n\narticle, the municipal governing body shall appoint a commission to\n\nbe known as the zoning commission to recommend the boundaries of the\n\nvarious original districts and to recommend appropriate regulations\n\nto be enforced therein. The commission shall make a preliminary\n\nreport and hold public hearings thereon before submitting its final\n\nreport. The governing body shall not hold its public hearings or\n\ntake action until it has received the final report of the\n\ncommission.
