Stat. tit. 11, § 11-47-108","heading":"Procedure of commission in adopting the plan","body":"The commission may adopt the plan as a whole by a single\n\nresolution or may by successive resolutions adopt successive parts\n\nof the plan, the parts corresponding with major geographical\n\nsections or divisions of the municipality or with functional\n\nsubdivisions of the subject matter of the plan, and may adopt any\n\namendment or extension thereof or addition thereto. Before the\n\nadoption of the plan or any such part, amendment, extension, or\n\naddition the commission shall hold at least one public hearing\n\nthereon, notice of the time and place of which shall be given by one\n\npublication in a newspaper of general circulation in the\n\nmunicipality and in the official gazette, if any, of the\n\nmunicipality. The adoption of the plan or of any part or amendment\n\nor extension or addition shall be by resolution of the commission\n\ncarried by the affirmative votes of a majority of the commission.\n\nThe resolution shall refer expressly to the maps and descriptive and\n\nother matter intended by the commission to form the whole or part of\n\nthe plan, and the action taken shall be recorded on the map and plan\n\nand descriptive matter by the identifying signature of the chairman\n\nor secretary of the commission.
