Whenever any member of the fire department of any\n\nmunicipality, on account of sickness or temporary disability, other\n\nthan a burn injury, caused or sustained while in the discharge of\n\nthe member's duty as such member, is unable to perform the member's\n\nduties, notwithstanding the workers' compensation provisions of\n\nTitle 85A of the Oklahoma Statutes related to temporary disability\n\nbenefits, the salary shall be paid by the municipality to the member\n\nand shall continue while the member is sick or temporarily disabled\n\nfor a period of not more than six (6) months with the municipality\n\nhaving the option of extending the period for up to an additional\n\nsix (6) months, not to exceed a total of twelve (12) months, after\n\nwhich period the provisions for disability benefits under the\n\nOklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System shall apply.\n\nThe salary received by the member under this subsection while the\n\nmember is sick or temporarily disabled for a period specified in\n\nthis subsection shall be, or deemed to be, part of the member's\n\nactual paid gross salary under the Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and\n\nRetirement System. Contributions shall be made on actual paid gross\n\nsalary paid pursuant to this section.\n\nB. Whenever any member of the fire department of any\n\nmunicipality, on account of a burn injury, caused or sustained while\n\nin the discharge of the member's duty as such member, is unable to\n\nperform the member's duties, notwithstanding the workers'\n\ncompensation provisions of Title 85A of the Oklahoma Statutes\n\nrelated to temporary disability benefits, the salary shall be paid\n\nby the municipality to the member and shall continue while the\n\nmember is sick or temporarily disabled for a period of not more than\n\ntwelve (12) months with the municipality having the option of\n\nextending the period for up to an additional six (6) months, not to\n\nexceed a total of eighteen (18) months, after which the period the\n\nprovisions for disability benefits under the Oklahoma Firefighters\n\nPension and Retirement System shall apply. The salary received by\n\nthe member under this subsection while the member is sick or\n\ntemporarily disabled for a period specified in this subsection shall\n\nbe, or deemed to be, part of the member's actual paid gross salary\n\nunder the Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System.\n\nContributions shall be made on actual paid gross salary paid\n\npursuant to this section.\n\nC.
