Stat. tit. 11, § 11-49-139","heading":"Persons carried on roll of members during military","body":"absence - Advancements and promotions - Reinstatement - Reduction of\n\ncompensation or dismissal.\n\nAny such person shall be carried on the roll of members of the\n\nfire department during such absence and shall be entitled to all\n\nadvancements, seniority and promotions under the rules, regulations\n\nand customs of the fire department, during his said absence, and all\n\nadvancements and promotions made in the fire department during his\n\nabsence in such military or naval service to which he would have\n\nbeen entitled shall only be filled temporarily and shall be subject\n\nto the rights of such person who shall, within ninety (90) days\n\nafter he has been honorably discharged or received a certificate as\n\na reserve component of the land or naval services, have the right to\n\nmake application for reinstatement, and he shall have preference\n\nover any and all members of the fire department who have been\n\nemployed by such municipality subsequent to his entering said\n\nmilitary or naval service, and upon such application it shall be the\n\nduty of the executive head of the fire department to reinstate such\n\nperson as an actual member of the fire department with all rights of\n\nadvancements and promotions, provided, he has not been mentally or\n\nphysically disabled since last serving in such fire department and\n\nis able to pass the usual and customary physical and mental\n\nexamination then required by the State Board for entry into said\n\nfire department, and he shall not thereafter be subject to reduction\n\nof compensation or dismissal without just cause.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"4cdf09c8a448f432834e22dac9523e81804276c8e612b080604744566e847bbb","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-49-138.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-49-140"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
