Stat. tit. 11, § 11-50-116.1","heading":"Sickness or temporary disability - Continuance of","body":"salary.\n\nWhenever any member of the police department of any municipality\n\nis unable to perform the member's duties because of sickness or\n\ntemporary disability caused or sustained while in the discharge of\n\nthe member's duty as such member, notwithstanding the provisions of\n\nSections 11 and 12 of Title 85 of the Oklahoma Statutes, the salary\n\nshall be paid by the municipality to the member and shall continue\n\nwhile the member is sick or temporarily disabled for a period of not\n\nmore than six (6) months with the municipality having the option of\n\nextending the period for up to an additional six (6) months, not to\n\nexceed a total of twelve (12) months, after which said period the\n\nprovisions for permanent total or permanent partial disability\n\nbenefits of the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System shall\n\napply. Should a member receiving a salary under this section be\n\neligible to receive, and should the salary of the member under this\n\nsection exceed any temporary disability benefit paid to the member\n\nunder Section 1 et seq. of Title 85 of the Oklahoma Statutes, the\n\nmember shall transfer said temporary disability benefits under\n\nSection 1 et seq. of Title 85 of the Oklahoma Statutes to the\n\nmunicipality while the member is sick or temporarily disabled.","path":["OK Code","Title 11"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os11.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"76abf67153352fd838f10eb8d6142ba31af7fb827d093edadb50c36cdc3ecb87","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-50-115.2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-11-11-50-117"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
