Stat. tit. 11, § 11-51-105","heading":"Meet and confer - Agreements","body":"It shall be the obligation of the municipality, acting through\n\nits corporate authorities, to meet at reasonable times and confer in\n\ngood faith with the representatives of the fire fighters or police\n\nofficers within ten (10) days after receipt of written notice from\n\nsaid bargaining agent requesting a meeting for collective bargaining\n\npurposes. The obligation shall include the duty to cause any\n\ncollective bargaining agreement resulting from negotiations to be\n\nreduced to a written agreement, the term of which shall not exceed\n\none (1) year; provided, any such agreement shall continue from year\n\nto year and be automatically extended for one-year terms unless\n\nwritten notice of request for bargaining is given by either the\n\nmunicipal authorities or the bargaining agent of the fire fighters\n\nor police officers at least thirty (30) days before the anniversary\n\ndate of such negotiated agreement.
