Stat. tit. 11, § 11-51-111","heading":"Agreements - Contents","body":"Any agreement actually negotiated between the bargaining agent\n\nand the corporate authorities either before or within thirty (30)\n\ndays after arbitration shall constitute the collective bargaining\n\ncontract governing fire fighters or police officers in the\n\nmunicipality for the period stated therein; provided that such\n\nperiod shall not exceed one (1) year. Any collective bargaining\n\nagreement negotiated under the terms and provisions of this article\n\nshall specifically provide that the fire fighters or police officers\n\nwho are subject to its terms shall have no right to engage in any\n\nwork stoppage, slowdown or strike, the consideration for such\n\nprovision being the right to a resolution of disputed questions. All\n\nrules, regulations, fiscal procedures, working conditions,\n\ndepartmental practices and manner of conducting the operation and\n\nadministration of fire departments and police departments currently\n\nin effect on the effective date of any negotiated agreement shall be\n\ndeemed a part of said agreement unless and except as modified or\n\nchanged by the specific terms of such agreement. Every such\n\nagreement shall contain a clause establishing arbitration procedures\n\nfor the immediate and speedy resolution and determination of any\n\ndispute which may arise involving the interpretation or application\n\nof any of the provisions of such agreement or the actions of any of\n\nthe parties thereunder. In the absence of such negotiated procedure\n\nsuch dispute may be submitted to arbitration in accordance with the\n\nprovisions of Sections 51-107 through 51-110 of this title, except\n\nthat the arbitration board shall be convened within ten (10) days\n\nafter demand therefor by the bargaining agent upon the corporate\n\nauthority or authorities.
