The Municipal Campaign Finance and Financial Disclosure Act\n\nshall apply only to municipalities with a population of more than\n\nten thousand (10,000) according to the most recent Federal Decennial\n\nCensus and a general fund expenditure budget in excess of Ten\n\nMillion Dollars ($10,000,000.00) in the fiscal year in which the\n\nmunicipal elections are held.\n\nB. A municipality described in subsection A of this section may\n\nenact a comprehensive code of campaign finance and personal\n\nfinancial disclosure ordinances, including provisions for\n\nenforcement thereof, in which case the Municipal Campaign Finance\n\nand Financial Disclosure Act shall not apply to the municipality. A\n\nmunicipality described in subsection A of this section may contract\n\nwith an interlocal entity operating under the Municipal Campaign\n\nFinance Disclosure for Exempted Municipalities Act and the\n\nmunicipality may alternatively follow the provisions of the\n\nMunicipal Campaign Finance Disclosure for Exempted Municipalities\n\nAct when they have adopted their own comprehensive code of campaign\n\nfinance and personal disclosure ordinances as authorized under this\n\nact.
