Stat. tit. 11, § 11-7-101","heading":"Dissolution of municipality - Application - Notice of","body":"election on question.\n\nAn application for dissolution of a municipality shall be filed\n\nwith the governing body of the municipality. The application shall:\n\n1. Be in writing;\n\n2. Set forth the reasons for the request; and\n\n3. Be signed by not less than one-third of the registered\n\nvoters residing in the municipality as shown by the preceding\n\ngeneral election.\n\nIf the governing body of the municipality determines that the\n\nreasons for dissolution are good, it shall call for an election for\n\nthe purpose of submitting to the registered voters of the\n\nmunicipality the question of whether or not the municipality should\n\nbe dissolved.
